Changes coming to Covenant in 2023

For the past several years; Covenant Cooperative Outreach has operated a food pantry on site to help those in need.

As we turn the page and celebrate our 20th anniversary of serving those in the Wabash Valley, we want to reach more in 2023, than we did in 2022.

As it is important for you the faithful donors to help support Covenant, it is just as important for Covenant to help support those pantries in need.

So starting in 2023, we have invited Soaring Eagle Outreach to umbrella under Covenant and operate their food pantry inside our facility.

Due to circumstances beyond their control, the caretakers of Soaring Eagle lost their location where they were serving 200+ individuals a day.

This change will allow:

Reaching more lives ?

Currently, Covenant reaches 80-90 lives every Tuesday; by adding Soaring Eagle Outreach, we would be able to reach almost triple the amount of people in need in the Wabash Valley

More Truck Loads ?

With the rising fuel cost and truck rental fees, we have to look at different companies to help get the items into Covenant so we can get it out to our many pantries.

By doing this, the day the pantry opens will be on Saturday, which frees up Tuesday which will allow those businesses who operate M-F have access to the now non congested street outside the warehouse

More Pantries ?

Up to the end of 2022, we have pantries who have reached out to us asking to partner with us. Until now, we have not had the resources to be able to give out to other pantries other than our current partners.

By doing this, it will allow us to take on those pantries and by taking on more pantries, we in-turn can reach further in the Wabash Valley

Help with Expenses ?

Up to the end of 2022, Covenant has strived to be good stewards of the donations we receive to allocate them in the areas needed.

With the rising cost of everything we use daily; heating, cooling, electricity, etc. we have had rising cost on utilities not only on the warehouse side but the pantry side as well.

By taking on Soaring Eagle, we will now have donations that will solely go towards the utilities being used on that side which frees up donations that Covenant receives on a daily basis so we can bring more product in which in-turn will impact more lives in the Wabash Valley
